How to Change a Price on a SAM4S ER-900E Series Register

For ER-920E, ER-925E, ER-940E, ER-945E and ER-915E models, preset PLU prices are changed with Program 200 – PLU Price/HALO Programming in PGM mode. This procedure applies when the item is already configured as a preset-price PLU. If the PLU is configured as open price, Program 200 changes its high amount lock out (HALO) instead of assigning a fixed selling price.

1. Turn the Mode Switch to the PGM position.
2. Enter 200, then press SBTL.
3. Select the item. You can press its keyboard PLU key, scan the item, or enter the PLU number and press the PLU function key.
4. Enter the new preset price without the decimal point and press X/TIME. For example, enter 1299 for $12.99.
5. If the register has a second PLU price level allocated, enter the second-level price immediately afterward and press X/TIME again.
6. Repeat the item-selection and price steps for any additional PLUs, or press CASH to finish the program.

If the price will not program as expected: first confirm whether the PLU is preset or open. Program 100 controls that PLU status; Program 200 stores the preset selling price for a preset PLU, but stores the HALO for an open PLU. Older non-E ER-900-series models can differ, so confirm the exact model before using model-specific programming steps.

Departments, PLUs and Prices

The ER-900E Series uses PLUs for the role traditionally handled by departments. PLUs can be keyboard items, scanned items or numeric PLU entries, and can be configured for preset or open pricing.

Receipt Messages and Register Information
