Model comparison
The difference that decides it is the keyboard. ER-920E uses a flat keyboard; ER-925E uses a raised-key one. ER-920E is positioned for food service and menu-driven checkout, and ER-925E for retail and item-driven checkout. Most other capabilities are the same across the two, so choose on how staff actually ring a sale.
The interfaces listed above describe what each register exposes. They are not a statement that any particular scanner, scale, printer, drawer or payment terminal has been verified against these models — accessory compatibility is currently recorded as ER-920E: Verification required, ER-925E: Verification required. A port that physically accepts a cable does not establish that the combination works: cable, port programming, pinout and firmware all matter. Send the exact models and we will confirm the combination before anything is ordered.
