Every one of these needs verification against your register before we sell it. Not because they are unlikely to work, but because nobody has confirmed the exact combination yet, and a matching connector is not proof: on some registers the serial ports do not even share a connector with each other.

Four different printers, and only two of them are purchases

Built-in receipt printer: Inside the register. Prints the customer's receipt. Every current model has one, so it is not something to add.
Built-in journal printer: The second station on a dual-station register. An internal audit roll. It is not a kitchen printer and nothing can be routed to it — a register described as having two printers still prints nothing in a prep area.
External receipt printer: A separate printer beside the register, usually thermal. Bought separately.
External kitchen or remote printer: A separate printer in a prep area, usually impact so the paper survives heat and steam. This is the only one that prints in a kitchen.

Do you need an external receipt printer?

Separate from the one built into the register. Most counters do not need one.

What would need setting up?

Rough is fine. Nobody needs to count their PLUs now — the detailed worksheet comes later, and it is easier when you have the old register in front of you.

Programming and support are not the same thing

Programming is the configuration work above, quoted before it starts.

90 days of standard support comes with new equipment and begins on delivery. It covers reasonable assistance with what you bought: basic setup, normal operation, clarification or correction of the programming we supplied, and troubleshooting.

It is not unlimited reprogramming, unlimited data entry, unlimited menu changes, major configuration work, onsite service, or support for equipment bought elsewhere. Work outside it is $100 per hour, or $50 for a 30-minute block where available, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern.

Beyond a traditional register

If you need deeper inventory, customer tracking, restaurant workflow or kitchen routing, a hybrid ECR and Android POS may fit better than an electronic cash register. We have not mapped these to business types, so this is a conversation rather than a filter.
