About the NR-510BE
What it is and who it fits
The NR-510BE is the flat-keyboard model in the NR-510E Series. Its 90 keys hold 75 programmable locations, so a preset key can ring each menu item, and the spill-resistant surface is built for a food counter. The sales journal is kept electronically rather than on a second paper roll, and the Ethernet port is there for semi-integrated card payment.
Best fit
- CRS positions the NR-510BE for food service: cafeterias, quick service, concessions, ice cream and frozen yogurt stands, hamburger, sandwich, pizza, coffee, bakery, delis and bars (manufacturer positioning, LIT-408)
- Menus that change during the day: modifiers, and a key sheet under the overlay that is easily exchanged
- Counters that want a preset key for each item rather than a small set of department keys
- Receipt-only printing, with the journal kept electronically and saved or polled to a PC
Consider a different model when
- NR-510RBE if staff ring by department or preset-price key and you want large raised keys. It is the same register otherwise.
- ER-920E if you need a larger keyboard and item file: 150 key locations and up to 22,000 PLUs.

Key features
- One thermal receipt printer. 15 lines per second on 58 mm paper, up to 32 characters per line, with drop-and-print loading. Up to a 6-line preamble and 6-line postamble, and an optional graphic logo.
- Electronic journal. Up to 30,000 lines kept in memory, archived for printing at end of day, and polled and collected by a PC using the included eSpresso utility.
- Flat, spill-resistant keyboard. 90 keys and 75 programmable locations. Modifiers handle menus that change during the day, and the key sheet under the overlay is easily exchanged.
- Operator and customer displays. An adjustable 192 x 64 graphic blue backlit LCD names each item as it is entered, and a rear two-line, 16-character backlit turret display shows the customer prices and the total.
- Scanning. The USB port is documented for a scanner, and not-found PLU registration builds the item file as you scan. Which scanner fits which register
- Card payments. Semi-integrated credit, debit and gift card processing over the Ethernet port, using Datacap with an appropriate PIN pad and a persistent internet connection. - Ports and storage. Three serial ports (two RJ45, one DB9F), one USB port for a scanner, save and load or a PC interface, and an SD slot for saving programs and reports.
- Documented peripherals. Kitchen printer, slip printer, scale, scanner and pole display, plus PC communications with optional polling software.
- Everyday capacity. Up to 500 hard or soft guest checks, 2 price levels per PLU, 100 mix and match discounts, 4 tax rates or tables and up to 99 group totals.
- Security and cash control. Voids, reporting and programming are restricted by the manager's key lock, with enforced closed drawer and an open-drawer alarm.

Electronic journal. This register can keep journal records electronically inside the machine rather than only on paper. That is an electronic recordkeeping capability, not an extra print station: it does not add a second built-in printer, and it is not an external kitchen or remote impact printer.

Supplies
This model uses 58 mm (2.25 in) receipt paper. Check the roll diameter your printer accepts as well as the width, since width alone does not guarantee fit.
