Every scanner below is in stock and priced. What differs between them is how much we can tell you about your register before you buy — so each one states its interface, what it reads, and exactly which SAM4S registers it is documented against.

View & buyPrices are for the scanner kit only. A scanner almost always needs programming on both sides: setup barcodes on the reader, and the register's port set to scanner mode. We do that with you rather than leaving you with a manual.
Compatibility status
We separate two things that are easy to confuse. A manufacturer datasheet tells you what a scanner is. It does not tell you that it works with a SAM4S register. Only the first group below has a SAM4s-specific source behind it.
Covered by the CRS “Code Scanner Sam4s Setup Guide” v1.10, which carries model-specific setup barcodes for this reader on SAM4s ECRs. Documented against these current registers:
Serial adapter required on the registers marked above. Those models use RJ45 serial ports while this kit terminates in DB-9, so the correct adapter or crossover cable has to be fitted. The CRS part number is not published in the setup guide, so we source and confirm it with you rather than selling a cable that may not fit.

Register compatibility verification required. We have manufacturer documentation for this scanner, but no SAM4s-specific setup source. That does not mean it will not work — it means we will confirm the port, cable and programming against your exact register before we recommend it. Send us your model and we will tell you either way.

A register listed here means the pairing is documented, not that it is plug-and-play. Port programming, baud settings and the correct cable still have to be right, and that is what we confirm with you.
Not sure which scanner works with your register? Send us the register model and we will tell you which of these fits, what cable it needs, and what has to be programmed — before you spend anything.
Check compatibilityA scanner can physically plug in and still be incompatible. Start with the exact register or POS model, the barcodes being scanned and the required connection.
UPC and Code 128 are common 1D barcodes. QR codes, Data Matrix and many mobile-screen codes require a 2D imager.
USB HID, USB serial and true serial connections are not interchangeable in every system. Confirm what the register or software supports.
Some registers require scanner-port, baud-rate or barcode settings before the device will communicate correctly.
Compatibility depends on the exact register model, interface, cable, firmware and programming. We verify the correct configuration before recommending an accessory. Send the exact register/POS model, current scanner model if replacing one, connection type and a sample of the barcode you need to read.
Accessories & peripherals
Each category below is bought the same way: identify the exact register or printer model first, then match the interface. We do not sell peripherals on the assumption that a connector fits.
Start with the register you own
Select the exact current register first. Its setup page uses our structured links for programming, supplies, protection and hardware, and hardware still has to pass the compatibility gate before it can be added directly.
