Before connecting the register

  • Confirm the exact SAM4S model and software version.
  • Use the correct serial cable, USB-to-serial adapter or supported Ethernet/IP connection.
  • Confirm the Windows COM port or network settings.
  • Save a current programming backup whenever the model and utility support it.
  • Do not send a programming file from a different register family.

Common connection problems

Wrong COM ports, incorrect baud-rate settings, unsupported cables, missing USB adapter drivers and mismatched utilities cause many connection failures. The PC and register must also use compatible communications settings.
