Compatibility status: Verification required. We confirm the exact configuration before recommending or shipping equipment.
Works with
These are the connections and peripheral types the manufacturer documents for this model.
Read this before you buy an accessory
This tells you what kind of device the register supports. It does not tell you that a particular scanner, printer, scale or display will work with it — that depends on the exact model, cable, port programming and firmware, and still has to be confirmed. The accessories we have actually verified for this register are listed below.
Complete your system
Integrated payments mean the card terminal and the register talk to each other, so the sale is entered once and the totals agree at the end of the day.
No keying the total into a separate terminal, and no reconciling two sets of numbers because someone typed it twice.
The register, the peripherals and the payment side are set up together, so when something needs attention there is one number to ring.
We verify the register, the processing program and the integration path as one combination before recommending it, rather than assuming parts fit.
A processor change is not required to buy equipment. If you are already taking cards, send us a recent statement and we will tell you plainly whether a change is worth making.
The CAS PDN Series is a POS interface scale built for the checkout counter. Product weights transfer directly into the transaction on a connected POS system or ECR. No manual entry, no delay.
All three capacities share the same enclosure, display, interfaces and accessories. Choose the capacity you need; the rest of the scale is identical.
| Units | PDN-12 | PDN-30 | PDN-60 |
|---|---|---|---|
| lb | 12 x 0.002 lb | 30 x 0.005 lb | 60 x 0.01 lb |
| kg | 6 x 0.001 kg | 12 x 0.002 kg | 30 x 0.005 kg |
| oz | 200 x 0.05 oz | 400 x 0.1 oz | 1000 x 0.2 oz |
| Max tare (lb) | -11.998 | -29.995 | -59.99 |
Internal resolution 1/60,000. External resolution 1/6,000 (lb/kg) or 1/4,000 (oz), single range.
A standalone scale shows a weight and leaves someone to read it and type it in. That is two chances to get it wrong and a few seconds lost on every weighed item. A POS interface scale sends the weight into the sale itself, so the price is calculated from what the scale actually measured.
USB is the default. The PDN is powered through the USB port, so connecting the USB cable to a POS terminal's USB port is the whole setup - no separate power supply in the way.
Read this before choosing RS-232C or Bluetooth. If you use the optional RS-232C or Bluetooth ports, the PDN must be powered from the optional AC power block through the USB cable. Those options are not bus-powered.
Functions include weighing, unit conversion, ECR Protocol, Printer Protocol and optional BLE. The ECR protocol type is selected from a documented list, and USB and RS-232 can each be set to a different protocol.
Legal for trade, NTEP CoC #22-046. Two-year warranty.
The PDN documents selectable ECR protocol types, including an NCI General mode used by many POS systems and ECRs. That is protocol evidence - it does not establish that any particular register model will work with this scale, and a shared USB connector is not evidence either. Send us your exact register or POS model and we will confirm the protocol, the port, the power arrangement and the correct cable before you order.
