Compatibility — Check Before Ordering

Powered cash drawers are not interchangeable just because the plug fits. Drawer voltage, connector, pinout and the device that drives the drawer all matter. If you are connecting this drawer to a SAM4s register, POS terminal or receipt printer and are not certain which version you need, contact us with the exact model of your equipment before ordering so we can help verify compatibility.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which CRS cash drawer is the smallest?

Model 13 is the smallest at 13" wide by 13" deep, making it a strong choice where counter space is limited.

Which models have five bill compartments?

Models 16 and 18 have five bill compartments and five coin compartments. Models 13 and 14 have four bill compartments and five coin compartments.

Which CRS cash drawer is manual?

The Model 16 Manual configuration opens manually and does not use a drawer-compulsion cable or connector.

Can I connect any 24V RJ12 cash drawer to my receipt printer or POS?

No. A matching connector does not guarantee compatibility. Voltage, pinout and host drive method must also match. Ask us to verify your equipment before ordering if you are unsure.

Can I get a replacement insert or locking lid?

Yes. Matching inserts and locking lids are available for these CRS drawer models. Use the Cash Drawer Parts & Accessories collection and select the accessory for the same model drawer.

Need a Complete POS Setup?

We can also help match your cash drawer with compatible SAM4s equipment, receipt printers and integrated credit-card processing. Contact SAM4sDirect if you want help putting together the complete setup.

Complete your system

Take card payments through the same system

Integrated payments mean the card terminal and the register talk to each other, so the sale is entered once and the totals agree at the end of the day.

Enter the sale once

No keying the total into a separate terminal, and no reconciling two sets of numbers because someone typed it twice.

One setup, one support call

The register, the peripherals and the payment side are set up together, so when something needs attention there is one number to ring.

Checked against each other first

We verify the register, the processing program and the integration path as one combination before recommending it, rather than assuming parts fit.

A processor change is not required to buy equipment. If you are already taking cards, send us a recent statement and we will tell you plainly whether a change is worth making.
