Description

The CAS CL-5500 is a commercial label printing scale built for busy delis, grocery stores, butcher shops, seafood markets, bakeries, produce departments, and specialty food retailers that sell products by weight.

It combines weighing, price calculation, PLU lookup, and on-demand thermal label printing in one workstation, helping employees weigh an item, recall the product, calculate the selling price, and print a professional barcode label quickly.

Why choose the CAS CL-5500?

  • Weigh, price, and label in one workflow for faster counter service
  • Up to 4,000 PLUs with direct ingredient messages up to 2,100 characters
  • High-speed thermal label printer with print speeds up to 100 mm/sec
  • 45 standard label formats plus up to 20 custom label formats with CL-Works Pro
  • 96 speed keys on the bench model for quick product recall
  • Ethernet included with wireless configurations available
  • Multiple barcode formats for retail labeling workflows
  • Dual LCD displays for operator information and PLU/programming functions
  • Legal for Trade / NTEP approved for commercial applications where products are sold by weight
  • Compatible with CAS CL-Works Pro for PLU, label, and scale data management

Best for

  • Deli and prepared-food counters
  • Grocery and supermarket departments
  • Meat and butcher shops
  • Seafood markets
  • Bakeries
  • Produce departments
  • Cheese and specialty-food retailers
  • Any business that needs to weigh, price, and print labels for packaged products

Choose the right configuration

CL-5500 60 lb: Standard bench-style 60 lb configuration for most deli, grocery, butcher, and specialty-food counters.

CL-5500 60 lb with Pole Display: 60 lb model with a raised customer-facing display for counters where better customer visibility is important.

CL-5500 Wireless: Wireless-capable 60 lb configuration for locations where running an Ethernet cable is inconvenient.

CL-5500 Wireless with Pole Display: Wireless-capable 60 lb model with a raised customer-facing display.

Important: CAS treats the pole-display version as a separate model configuration. A pole display cannot simply be added later to a standard CL-5500 bench model, so choose the correct version when ordering.

Label and product management

The CL-5500 works with CAS CL-Works Pro software, giving you a centralized way to manage PLUs, pricing, ingredients, label formats, and scale data from a Windows PC. The scale supports both preset and custom label formats, making it suitable for everything from simple price-and-weight labels to more detailed ingredient and barcode labels.

Complete your system

Take card payments through the same system

Integrated payments mean the card terminal and the register talk to each other, so the sale is entered once and the totals agree at the end of the day.

Enter the sale once

No keying the total into a separate terminal, and no reconciling two sets of numbers because someone typed it twice.

One setup, one support call

The register, the peripherals and the payment side are set up together, so when something needs attention there is one number to ring.

Checked against each other first

We verify the register, the processing program and the integration path as one combination before recommending it, rather than assuming parts fit.

A processor change is not required to buy equipment. If you are already taking cards, send us a recent statement and we will tell you plainly whether a change is worth making.
